It's that time of year again and the Royals trade rumors are all over the place. Here's a rundown:
Ron Mahay is drawing interest from as many as ten teams according to Jayson Stark. Both the Phillies and the Red Sox are known to be interested.
The evil Yankees are thought to be interested in Brian Bannister. According to Bob Dutton, the Yankees might be willing to part with Melky Cabrera for Bannister.
A couple of teams are thought to be interested in Miguel Olivo; the evil Yankees are looking for a catcher and Olivo is in the mix, and the Blue Jays are thought to be interested in trading for him as well, with plans to move him to the Marlins.
Mark Grudzielanek wants to play another two or three years, but his contract is up at the end of this season. Mike Aviles could certainly replace him, but who would play short? Alberto Callaspo is still an unknown, but if he's ready, then I wouldn't be opposed to giving him a shot. I also wouldn't mind seeing the Royals re-sign Grud for two more seasons. The Royals are believed to be shopping Grud, but at this point, nothing seems to be imminent.
